I was born in northeastern Kentucky, into the most wonderful family in the world. My parents encouraged me in my faith and inspired me to seek God in all things. Raised in a conservative Christian church, I eventually ended up at a Christian liberal arts university in the south, where I obtained my degree in Psychology and Bible. Throughout the last several years I’ve been on a journey… one that brings me to an unexpected place just about every day. It was through my initial struggle that I realized the immense value of finding my own voice and sharing my own story. With an open heart, we must learn to listen to the experiences of others—even those which are very different from our own. When we engage in constructive, life-giving conversation with one another, it is only then that we encounter unconditional love.
